The free version is not a demo
Forty guests is an ordinary wedding, not a sample. On the free version you keep guests as households, send out reply links, collect answers including meals and allergies, and have the whole checklist with deadlines counted to your date — with no time limit and no card on file. If you fit inside it, you fit inside it on the day as well.
The paid version solves two things: a bigger wedding, and the part of planning that arrives at the end — seating, catering, the run sheet for suppliers, and the website for guests. Which is why the sensible order is to start free and pay only when you run into one of them.
What happens to your data
It stays yours. After the licence expires you can still see it and still export it — expiry blocks writing in the paid modules, not access to what you already wrote. We delete nothing and we hold nothing hostage to make you pay again.
What people ask
Does the payment renew automatically?
No. You pay once and have 18 months of access. Nothing is charged again and there is nothing to cancel. We treat that as a feature rather than as small print.
Why 18 months?
Engagements run 12 to 18 months on average, and you start planning before you pay. A one-year licence would expire before the wedding for some couples — which is the worst thing that could happen.
What if the licence expires?
You do not lose your data and nobody is thrown out. You can still see everything; you just cannot add new items in the full-version modules. Anyone planning with you stays.
Does the licence cover both of us?
Yes. One of you buys it and it unlocks the whole wedding for both — and for the coordinator, witness or parents you bring into the planning.
Do we both need an account?
Everyone who takes part in the planning has their own account — otherwise there would be no way to tell who changed what, and signing in “with one password we agree on” ends as a shared password in somebody’s notes app. Creating an account is free and only one of you buys the licence; the others join and reach the same wedding without paying again.
When is it worth moving to the full version?
When you hit the forty-guest limit, or when you get to the seating plan and sending invitations — that is where the difference between the versions is largest. Until then there is no reason to pay: the guest list, the checklist and the replies all work free and none of them asks for a card. Starting free and paying later is not the worse route, it is the recommended one.
Why is there no monthly subscription?
Because a wedding is a one-off and a subscription would keep running afterwards. A charge arriving a month after the wedding, when nobody has opened the app since, is exactly the kind of line that makes people phone their bank — and they would be right. One payment covering a period that safely spans the wedding is a worse business model and a better deal.
What if we change our minds?
Write to us within fourteen days and we will refund you. The detail is in the terms, but the summary is short: we will not ask why and we will not try to talk you into another week.
Is the licence for one wedding?
Yes. It unlocks the wedding you buy it for, with everyone you invite into the planning. If you are planning two at once — a ceremony and a reception a year later as separate events, say — write to us and we will sort it out rather than have you buy two licences blind.
I plan several weddings, I am a coordinator.
There is a separate plan for coordinators and agencies, with several weddings in one view, your own supplier book and templates. The one-off licence is built for one couple and one wedding — twenty licences would be a worse arrangement for you than one subscription.
